Transferring calls

I cannot announce a call I am transferring.  If I hit transfer and the extension it cuts off on my end and goes right to the extension

  The proper operation for transferring a call is as follows:

  1) Warm transfer (announce the person you are transferring):  While in the call, hit the XFER button (this will put the caller on hold), enter the extension or outside number and press dial.  Wait for the other person to answer the call, announce the caller and hit the XFER button.  The person you are transferring the call to never hangs up.

  2) Cold transfer (blindly transfer a call):  While in the call, hit the XFER button (this will put the caller on hold), enter the extension or outside number and press XFER again
